Using lame with the -v2 setting results in all frequencies beyond 16kHz being cut off. Is there a way around this?

Re: lame hf cutoff
Lame is working as designed, you cannot have -v2 and above 16KHz as the codec is tuned to cut there. -
Re: lame hf cutoff
Why is > 16 KHz important? for mp3 those dropped high frequencies (which are doubtful if you could hear or not, depending on your age) are used to make the other frequencies below have better encoding.Comment

Re: lame hf cutoff
That's what I am reading in the release notes for lame, and yes, I probably cannot tell anyway. But it would make me feel better, like using dbpoweramp for ripping makes me feel better than using the facilities provided by JRiver MediaCenter.
But I guess there is no way to do it with lame, or is there?Comment

Re: lame hf cutoff
If you use the CLI Encoder you can pass what ever commandline you wish to lame, and override lame (which IMHO is not a good idea).Comment
