    ogg and m4a questions

Hi, I have a few questions about ripping/converting files to (lossy) compressed formats.
I use dMC (Music Converter) R13.5 and I listen my music files on portables players (such as iPod nano 3G and a Cowon S9).
my CDs are backed up in Flac and I also have mp3 files (encoded with Lame CBR 320 kbps).
Since I like to listen some of the files on Apple (iPod or iPhone), I need to convert my files to m4a format and I got confused with the (rich) choice proposed in dMC or CD ripper:
. I understand that "Apple lossless" is a non choice since I have aleady Flac.
. I don't see yet the meaning of the "aac to m4a" and the "m4a to aac" options?
The two remainings choices are "m4a optimize" and "m4a Nero (AAC)".
At this point I got confused.
Some times ago, I used the "m4a Nero (AAC)" and that's all, but since I read more information on this forum, I wonder if I should not go on a second pass using "m4a optimize" (with the "generate RTP hint" option)?

other question: could you tell me which m4a setting would the closest (in terms of quality) to mp3 CBR_320?

    thanks!

    Re: ogg and m4a questions

You just need m4a Nero (AAC)

For a similar aac settting, any bitrate above 224Kbps

      Re: ogg and m4a questions

thank you for the fast answer!
Should I understand that the "m4a optimize" option is no longer useful with recent versions of dbpoweramp (r12 or above)?
Did I miss something about that point?
