Could NOT! convert protected .WMAs

I guess you could say that I am seriously dissapointed!:thumbdown
I downloaded and followed ALL possible ways to convert the protected WMAs to wave, m4a, etc. as per the post stating how this can be done and I still get the "error" wma file is protected by the source.. no crap.. really?
I am no stranger to the pc world either. Can this be done or not??? Can somebody REALLY answer this question??? Please??? :(
