Compressing Music

I am very new to this program. Could you please tell me what is the best compression for wave music to send through an email program. I now have it set on "11.025 K Hz, 16 Bit. Mono 21 kb/sec" and it seems as though it takes forever for it to send. Can anyone advise me on this? Sure would appreciate it.

Try a compressed format, such as mp3, or a compressed WAV, such as wave-mp3.
