How do I properly rip mixed CDs?

Due to the lack of gap detection how do I make sure I get gapless playback of my mixed CDs?

In addition, how do I make sure I can burn them back?

All CD Rippers rip as gapless when ripping to lossless.

And for burning it back to a CD, is there anyway to make sure there are no gaps, I guess that is a function of the burning software.

Correct (burning software dependent when writing CDs)

Re: How do I properly rip mixed CDs?

              hello spoon and all others

seems i have the same problem with my mixed cds also , but i don't even burn them on cd , as i want to play fully digital playback
when i rip my mixed ones , i then use vlc media player 2.1.5 to play the ripped cd but i still get a gap or better said , it jumps to the next track and i use 3 formats to rip flac lossless , wav, and mp3 ,
now i must admit that i have downloaded it from a torrent , because i was shoplifted on the net , but dBpoweramp , i took the latest version , and when i rip i use three dsp's play sound after conversion, bitdepth to 24 bit and resample to 96 khz , i don't know wheere the problem lies , is it the dsp's i use or vlc mediaplayer , if spoon or someone else could tell me where the problem lies ,i would immediately buy the software with paypal but after ripping i get this message in the extraction log , shown hereunder
anyway if someone could help me out ,i'd be very thankfull and of course buy it immediately

Gapless information is missing, ensure this DSP effect is used with CD Ripper (R14 or later)

VLC is not a gapless player, try foobar 2000

                  thnx spoon

thought so already that it had to be something with the vlc player , but foobar 2000 is really freakingly difficult 2 handle 4 a tech nerd nerd like me , but i'll give it a try

if it works i'll pay for the software, no worries

                    and also spoon

some days ago i mailed you when the new version reference of dbpoweramp will be released (me know this is off-topic) but was it for early 2015 or early 2016? and am also a bit curious what might be added to the already best music editing, ripper software there is on the net ,it's crazy , it must be a day job for you the replies ,the development ideas ,must be a nutt job ;-)
oh well on to the foobar hope it won't crash my system cos last time i used , but it was on my old desktop , got meself a new 1 ,more powerfull ,so guess i can tune foobar to the top now
agh ,blathering but thnx for the hint on foobar

The next major update will be 2016 (most likely)

give foobar2000 a bit more of a chance. It can be complicated if one wants to use all the various settings, but one can simply install and play things without all the complexity. I use VLC for videos on my PC, but VLC is really not a good audio player for many reasons.
