How do I play an mpc file

How do I deal with a file in this format? I have oggcodecs installed to WMP. I also have VLC, and had KM recommended in glowing terms. I believe mpc derives from Media Player Classic, but I would prefer a minimum number of media players, given how some like to attempt to take over the whole computer (Real Player) What is the best choice?:confused:
