How do I convert to WMA using command line?

I have Reference version installed. Can't figure out the right parameters to use command line conversion (need it for a batch file).

Using: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\coreconverter.exe" -infile="D:\Novice\Novice1.wav" -outfile="D:\Novice\Novice1.wma" -convert_to="Windows Media Audio 10" -codec="Windows Media Audio 9.2"

Results in Error Creating WMA profile.

What would be correct command line syntax if I want to convert to WMA lossles? :blush:

Try something like this:

"E:\program files\dbpoweramp\coreconverter.exe" -infile="E:\test.m4a" -outfile="E:\test.wma" -convert_to="Windows Media Audio 10" -codec="Windows Media Audio 9.2" -settings="VBR Quality 98, 44 kHz, stereo VBR" -vbr

Adjust -settings as needed.

This (suggested) conversion string:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\coreconverter.exe" -infile="D:\Novice\Novice1.wav" -outfile="D:\Novice\Novice1.wma" -convert_to="Windows Media Audio 10" -codec="Windows Media Audio 9.2" -settings="VBR Quality 98, 44 kHz, stereo VBR" -vbr
works like a charm.

But this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\coreconverter.exe" -infile="D:\Novice\Novice1.wav" -outfile="D:\Novice\Novice1.wma" -convert_to="Windows Media Audio 10" -codec="Windows Media Audio 9.2 Lossless" -settings="VBR Quality 100, 44 kHz, 2 channel 16 bit" -vbr
Returns Error Creating WMA Profile. Conversion Failed.

The difference is in:

-codec="Windows Media Audio 9.2 Lossless"
-settings="VBR Quality 100, 44 kHz, 2 channel 16 bit" -vbr

Any ideas what should be there to achieve lossless quality?

Hello, following this thread I tried the conversion with a newer codec

I:\>coreconverter -infile="Abc.mp3" -outfile="Abc.wma" -convert_to="Windows Media Audio 10" -codec="Windows Media Audio 10 Professional" -settings="64 kbps, 44 kHz, 2 channel 16 bit VBR" -vbr

Moreover, I'd like the coreconverter to make a 2 passes convertion in that process, how could i do that ?

I get an error while the coreconverter tries to create a wma profile. Would somebody be gentle enough to help me with this problem please ?

after a few tries, I've found that 64 kbps encoding doesn't work with Command Line Encoding... The same command with 128 kbps works just fine...

Nevertheless, I'd like my audio files to be encoded with a 64 kbps compression... I'm begging the entire world to help me with this problem

Try this:
-codec="Windows Media Audio 10 Professional" -settings=" 64 kbps, 44 kHz, 2 channel 16 bit VBR" -vbr -2pass

Just encoded with the GUI then pulled that from the registry.

Also remember the line that LTData posted would change if you have XP, Vista or Windows seven (it is OS specific).
