how do I convert flac files and ignore mp3?

I have a mixture of flac and mp3 files in my music directory.

What is the best way to batch convert the whole music directory (folders containing mixture of flac and mp3) without manually going through each folder and removing the mp3 files and so just leaving the flac files for conversion?

right click the root of your music folder, choose batch converter, click the filter button, choose which file types you want to convert, optionally use the batch converter tree to add/remove folders/subfolders

Batch Converter does not add its self by default to folders, run it instead from Start >> programs >> dBpoweramp music converter.

Is there a setting that will allow me to convert to MP3 from flac and delete the original flac files so I am left with a music directory that has only MP3 files in?

I have my music backed up in 4 different places (some bands have mixture of flac and mp3 albums) and I am using one to convert all my flac to mp3 (@ 240k rate) for use with my new shiny 120G iPod so all I want in that directory is mp3's (if that is the best format to use with an iPod).

You can add a DSP effect 'delete source'
