play flac on dbpoweramp audio player

I've got flac working correctly in the conversin programme, but do not know how to get the codex added to the audio player. User help guides suggest the flac code be downloaded, but this action tells me its already there.

    thanks

Re: play flac on dbpoweramp audio player

Versions 12.0 and later of the "conversion program" (dBpoweramp Music Converter, aka dMC) use a different set of codecs than dBpoweramp Audio Player (aka dAP) assuming that you are either using r2 or the r3 beta version of dAP.

dAP has to be installed in a different folder from dMC. It uses the "Legacy" codecs from Legacy Codec Central (there is a link there from the Codec Central tab at the top of this page). dAP needs the FLAC codec from that site. The newer FLAC codec in the Codec Central page that was used by dMC will not only not work with dAP, it will likely cause the program to crash. If you installed the wrong codec in the folder where you have dAP, you need to remove that before installing the correct codec.

    Best wishes,
    Bill
