How to adjust the length of the encoding task queue?

How can adjust the cd ripper to queue up more encoding jobs? I have the situation where I can rip much faster than encode. I noticed that after more than 2 queued encoding jobs the ripper pauses before going to the next track.

Is there any way to prevent that?

Even if everything was queued up, in the end you would end with a very large queue, so there is no point.
