    How do i maximize the UnCompression?

    hello;

    as you know the mp3 is a compressed audio type of file and the fact that i have the bunch of that, making the archive, i want a maximum uncompression for a good quality. i tried the 640 kbps free format but well neither winamp nor WMP and my mp3player can play that XD
    so how can i make a 100%(or so close) uncompression of the file and BEST QUALITY, give me the BEST QUALITY settings for that (gimme all settings, i want an UBER QUALITY that this technology can maximumly offer to me) and it would be grateful.. =)

    thanks in advance

    If you are talking about uncompressing your .mp3 files, you shouldn't try this. Mp3 is one of a class of "lossy" codecs. This means that in the act of compressing them some audio information is lost. Generally, the higher the amount of compression, the more information is lost. If you were to take such a file and convrt it to .wave, to a lossless codec (like .flac) or to a higher bitrate .mp3 file you cannot regain that lost information (you simply end up with a bigger file).

    If you are talking about re-ripping these .mp3 tracks from original CDs, then you might want to use a lossless codec (such as .flac, Monkeys, WavPack, or Apple Lossless). Or you could convert to standard .wave for the most universal usage (but with the least compression.

    Best wishes,
    Bill

      then really a dumb question coming: there's a program called audio cd maker to UnRip the mp3 files, what does it do then? can i UnRip and ReRip to 320 kbps? i think no but just to eliminate all the ideas..
      also, there's no way to UnRip the Ripped right?

        When you rip your mp3 files, you are sacrificing quality to get a smaller file size. Once that quality/data is gone, there is no way to get it back, so to burn your CDs to an audio CD and then re-rip at a higher bitrate will just give you larger files with the same quality you currently have in your mp3s.
