How do I play the format atrac3 in DBpoweamp????

Hi... I got a Sony discman with Atrac3 support... I installed the SonicStage 4.3 software in my PC and I'm able to burn atrac cds to play them in the discman. However, I wanna play that atrac cds in my pc and convert them in mp3 again. How do I play the atrac3 files in my pc????

ATRAC3 is a proprietary Sony format that dMC does not have an encoder or decoder for, and that format support is hard to find outside of sony themselves.

what a complete joke.
this software is supposed to support every format avaliable,but the ILLUSTRATE developers are either too lazy or scared of sony to bother writing the conversion code.

The sony plugin for sonic stage is completely useless as it will not convert 'protected or copyrighted' material.

Common situation:

User buys CD
User copies to Minidisc or ATRAC CD (a loss format)
User abandons minidisc after 10 years or so for ipod or mp3 or whatever
User wants to listen to his/her huge minidisc collecion so decides to convert too mp3 for ease of use. (now even more data/quality loss from atrac to mp3)


baaaam !!! no codec avaliable.
users entire collection (of many gigs by this stage) completely useless.

So, it's Illustrate's fault that they won't write a codec that will break the encryption on Sony's proprietary format and get sued for doing so? Riiiight.
