How do I rip analog lp's using dbPoweramp?

A new user to dbPoweramp, I'm interested in recording my analog lp's to .flac files so I can play them using the Logitech Squeezecenter and Transporter. I'm interested in recording and playing back 24 bit tracks with a 96k sampling rate. Assuming I successfully get the signal to my computer with a good analog to digital converter, what next?

You'll need software to record the analog input to your soundcard.

The Auxiliary Input program supplied with dMC release 11 is the only dBpowerAMP software that can be used to record analog audio. Auxiliary Input has not been updated to work with the most recent versions of the dBpowerAMP Music Converter.

I personally use WaveRepair to initially record analog audio to wav and then convert to whatever format afterwards using dMC. Whilst being a shareware program it does have a freeware mode http://www.delback.co.uk/wavrep/freeware.htm

This is pretty much my flow. some steps optional depending on how much you want to mess with it.

      1) Check the gain level, that you didn't clip or record too quiet. Maybe normalize the gain.

      2) Fix clicks and pops, either in an editor, or there are programs (I haven't used) to automate the process.

      3) Split the wav file into individual tracks. I find CDwav especially handy for this (which I also use for the recording process)

      4) Convert the tracks to a format that supports tags, such as FLAC.

      5) Fill in the tags for song name, artist, etc. DBPoweramp has tag editing, but there are tagging programs like The Godfather that can try to find the album in online databases and fill in the tags automatically.

Since it is a lot more work to digitize from a record than CD, I like to keep a lossless copy at least on a backup hard drive.

Like donp I like to retain a copy of the original digital recording either as a wav or lossless format (monkey audio).
