How do I use "File Naming" to filter foreign characters from file/directory names?

    I'm on a Linux/Windows network and some pc's don't like foreign characters - é, ç, ö, etc. - in their filenames/directory names..

So: how can I use the programmable file naming feature from Batch Convertor/CD Ripper to filter those characters from the file names?
(I prefer to keep the proper characters in the metadata.)

I don't store track names in filenames (I use 'Madonna - Immaculate/05' so to speak), so I'ld only need a [UTF-8][album artist] - [album][] function or something similar.

You can use the 'character/word replaceent' option for hte metadata (which will replace in the filename) and supply a list, ie:

    é e

(you would have to list all).

      Thanks for the quick help.

Still, this isn't precisely what I'm looking for.
I'ld want the metadata unchanged, only the filenames to be changed.

I'ld prefer to use an option within Batch Convertor, within Arrange Audio, where I can do something like this..

      [FILTERFOREIGNCHARACTER][artist][] -
      [FILTERFOREIGNCHARACTER][album][]\[IFMULTI]disc [disc] - [][track]

Is that possible? (Or is it possible to implement it? Would be willing to pay for the extra option.)

I have put it down for R13.2, but right now we are very busy with RipNAS.

Ok - thanks for considering implementing it in a new version!
For now, I'll have to find some other solution.
