    ID3 v1.1 Tags?

I've just ripped a few CDs in the dbpa CD Ripper. I've noticed when I play them back (on one of my media players) that the Artist name is not displayed on the screen.

Rips that I've done before using Exact Audio Copy do, and I think this is because EAC added ID3v1.1 tags *and* ID3v2.3 tags.

1/ How can I get dbPowerAmp CD Ripper to do this?

2/ How can I batch add ID3v1.1 to the existing MP3s?

    1) Go into dBpoweramp Configuration (See "Need to find your version?" below), click the Codec Tab, click "Advanced Options", then go to the mp3 section, where you can set the tags to be ID3v1.1 and ID3v2.3.

    2) After doing this, use the "ID Tag Update" utility codec to do something, even if it is just add a dummy tag, because then dMC rewrites all the tags on the files.

      Re: ID3 v1.1 Tags?

It turned out that adding the ID3v1 tags didn't help. My player prefers to read the ID3v2 ones. However, changing the ID3v2 character encoding from UTF-16 to ANSI did fix the problem (the option is in the same Advanced Options section that you pointed me at).

All fixed now, thanks for your help!
