How do I check&change PIO/DMA status w/ insufficient privileges to Device Manager?
I use Vista. I can get to Device Manager and open Properties dialog for said ATA controllers, but it doesn't show the Advanced tab where you can setup PIO/DMA. This must be due to low privilege user account. Opening the Device Manager prompts a warning stating that I can't alter settings.
Is there, in this case, a safe way to:
A) Check the drive's current state for PIO/DMA (Is there a giveaway behaviour in dMC for example?)
B) Change back to DMA if it's been altered. (Maybe a command line method?)
PS. There is no way I can increase my account's rights on this computer, so please don't just suggest that route.
