how do i increase my mp3 files to 320kbs?

Hi all, I'm new on the forum and sorry if this is a real dumb question (i just don't have an idea) but is it possible to say increase an mp3 files rate of 192kbs to say 320kbs and will it increase the file's overall sound?

How do you go about doing it? I mean, what kinda software would i need and how can i do it once i have the software?

You cannot, once quality is lost it is gone forever (otherwise all mp3 files would be 64kbps if you could magically increase the quality to 320kbps).

mp3gain simply adjusts the volume level of the tracks. One can always convert a file to a 320kbs file using any mp3 codec but you'll gain nothing and likely lose quality with the transcoding.

I think you even got worse aound than a normal 192 kbps if you do this. And also don't convert lossy files like wma to mp3 (transcoding)

but you can convert lossless format to another lossless format without any loss of the quality
