This method uses the Batch Converter.

After launching the Batch Converter you'l need to:

    1. Select the files that you want to update.
    2. Click the convert button (top left) to launch the converter itself.
    3. Select "ID Tag update" as the "Convert To" codec.
    4. You should now be presented with tabbed options. the one you want is the manipulation tab and scroll to the bottom.
    5. Select import from folder.jpg
    6. Click convert and away you go....

If you have anapod explorer for your ipod, you go to your preferences and change cover.jpg to folder.jpg and it will automatically add it as album art..

I need a batch converter to name the 845 different album arts that I had previously to folder.jpg in my music folder

          a better album art fixer

One of the tricky parts of managing a large music collection is dealing with missing album art or album art that's just plain wrong. None of the music applications have figured out a bulletproof system for always finding album art. Even the services providing the information, like Gracenote and AMG don't offer a consistent method for updates (although AMG does make their system obvious). As a result, your music files get no information or wrong information associated with them. Windows Media Player provides an interface to access this information, but associating the right images with a particular audio file is tricky. Album Art Fixer for MCE and WMP offers a solid alternative to making corrections to audio files. By tying into Google Images and Cover Target a quick search of the Internet typically finds the correct album art for a given music track. The interface also provides an option to correct song title and album title information. If a particular track is orphaned from the rest of an album, Album Art Fixer offers a pointer to place the file where it goes. While this isn't the perfect solution to missing image data for your music, it makes it easy to update file information without needing complicated steps. The app is donationware, so it reminds you how many files you've fixed and asks for donations periodically. [Windows 9x/2k/XP $0.00]

OK, so far this has worked great for me but I have three albums that I tried this with and for some reason the cover art still won't show on my Sony player. When I check the albums on my HD the artwork is there like it should be but just won't show on my player. Any ideas why?

Are the problem files a different format than the other files? The folder.jpg a different resolution?

hey're mp3 files like the others. Not sure about resolution.

Re: Add album art (folder.jpg) to existing rips

I'm the process of figuring out how to organize and fix up the 700 CDs my husband already has ripped and then figure out the best way to rip the remaining 300.

In my research, I came across a good method for adding album art for the 700 CDs he already had. I downloaded MediaMonkey (www.mediamonkey.com) and then added a script that is linked to from their forums (it's called batch art finder, scroll down this page to find it: http://trixmoto.net/mm/scripts.php?id=1). It's easy to use and I've added art to almost every track (it did take a couple hours).

                  Hope this helps someone...
