Add album art (folder.jpg) to existing rips

When I originally ripped all my cds I had no use for the album art (my squeezebox didn't use it), with their new Duet, I can now use it so how can I go through all my albums and add it back.

    I've got R12 reference edition.

Use the [ID Tag Update] utility codec. Select your files with the Batch Converter, then under the Manipulation tab, check "Import album art from folder.jpg".

I've had a look at this but I don't actually have the album art. I need to get it from somewhere. Is this possible to do automatically?

I've found this http://team.thenexusnet.com/nexus/AAA/ which can do them all in one go and it worked for 95% of the albums.

AAA will make the artwork a folder.jpg and you can then use what I posted above to embed the artwork in the files.

I was able to add art to existing files, using this method with the Batch Converter, but am having trouble importing art at the time of the rip.

I downloaded the ID Tag Update codec, and selected 'Import Album Art from folder.jpg' under manipulation. Then you also have to add DSP of 'ID Tag Processing' and select the same there? I then have the art in the folder I am ripping to, named folder.jpg, but nothing (should I see the preview if it is working?). I could just do the rip and then add the art with the Batch Convert, but it's twice the work; what am I missing?

Install R13, there is a + button next to the album art, you can load a file.

Yes, the DSP and utility codec for "ID Tag Update" do the same thing, but the utility codec doesn't require you to re-encode your files.

Ah, very nice; that is worth the price of admission alone. Hopefully it's not as buggy as all get out.

Can I (should I) remove the ID Tag codec and DSP? Guess it doesn't hurt anything, but I like to keep things simple.

By remove do you mean uninstall? The DSP effects are all installed together, but the utility codec you can remove if you want, though i would keep it in case you ever need it.

r13 is great for the way it import album art, but I did notice my one rip with it so far was much slower than before. Still not unreasonable, but I was wondering if there was a reason for it with the update.

Should not be anything to do with the update.

Hello - I am in the same position as the original poster in this thread. I have downloaded the trial version to figure out if I can embed my album art that is in each album's folder as "folder.jpg". For the life of me I can't figure out how to get it to work. I'm using the latest release R13, just downloaded today.

Is there a total newbie guide to do this? Instructions to the batch mode would be greatly appreciated. I can't figure out how to do it by reading forum threads... it's probably here somewhere... I just can't find it.

My goal is to get iTunes and ultimately my iPod to recognize the album art I have.

                          Thanks in advance!

Install the [ID Tag Update] utility codec and convert all your files to '[ID Tag Update]' and enable the improt folder.jpg option (in the [ID Tag Update] settings).

Hello - Thanks for your reply. I just purchased thinking that's why some of the options aren't visable. I have installed the "ID Tagging Codec" and see "ID Tagging" listed as a Codec. Can you help me with your instructions to "enable the import folder.jpg option" (I can't find the ID Tag Update settings)? I also can't figure out how to "convert all your files to '[ID Tag Update]'" .

Sorry to need so much hand holding.
