Add Disc # to Album tag?

Is there any way to make the ripper append the Disc # to the end of the "Album" tag? Essentially I just want it to duplicate the folder name:

    Europe '72 Disc 1
    Europe '72 Disc 2

That's the only way my "player of choice" will properly sort it all out the way I want...

    Many thanks,

    - Mark

You're a man of few words, Spoon! :smile2:

Do you mean Batch Converter? I experimented and tried using both "Map" and "Additions", but it won't accept an expression, i.e., change (or add) "Album" to

      [album][IFMULTI] Disc [disc][]

So I have to do each CD disc individually anyway, with a literal:

      Europe '72 Disc 1

and that's no easier than just changing it via Windows Explorer.

Unless I'm missing something, which is entirely possible. :o

In any case, it would be nice if I could do it at time of rip, rather than after-the-fact. Not possible?

      Thanks,

      - Mark

        Batch Ripper:

Illustrate has made a decision to enter the automated / commercial CD Ripping business in a big way, we are to offer automated (batch ripping) free for all Reference users. Normally automated ripping programs can cost $$$$, Illustrates aggressive pricing will ensure market domination. Final Functionality The program will

Spoon, how do I do the opposite? I don't want the "disc *" to append to the Album name metadata. But at same time create subfolders for different discs (eg Disc 1, Disc 2)??

I figured out if I delete the disc number from the Disc info box before ripping, this removes the Disc number from appending to the end of the Album name in metadata but at same time it won't create the disc number subfolders which I want. I'm using the following naming set:

            [IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[IFCOMP]Various Artists[][IF!COMP][artist][][] - [album] - ([year])\[IFMULTI]Disc [disc]\[]\[track]. [artist] - [title]

              There is an option:

CD Ripper >> Options >> Metadata & IDTags

Multi CD Add disc to album

              set to (never)

Tried that setting of setting Multi CD Add disc to album to "(never)" but no luck. Still the disc * appends to the album name. Only way to to avoid this so far is unchecking Write Tags "Disc" or deleting the disc info from the Disc box prior to ripping. But by doing this, it won't create the subfolders I want for Disc 1, Disc 2, etc...

Any other suggestions? Spent a lot of time trying to fix this and been very frustrating with no success.

The thing that appends must be external to dBpoweramp, try this set to (never), click refresh on the meta button to get new metadata, and rip one album. Then browse to where the files are ripped right click on one >> Edit ID Tags

Ok you're awesome Spoon. Going by your suggestion I play around with this issue further and it seems the player I am using had some hidden setting to display the disc * with the Album title. So all is good now!
