    Ports used for AMG, freedb?

The titile says it - what ports need to be open on a firewall for meta retrieval from AMG and freedb?

    Thanks,

    - Mark

Hmm, that's what I thought too, but it isn't retrieving when I'm at the office (ahem).

I wonder if the URL is being blocked...is every address being accessed <something>.allmusic.com, or is it calling some other site internally?

Yes on allmusic.com, in the FAQ is one firewall which stops amg from working because it modifies the packets.

You might be onto something there Spoon - not sure if it's the same FAQ as you were looking at, but the one that I just read appears to indicate that if advertising is being blocked, it will break AMG - and my corporate firewall does indeed block much advertising (not just pop-ups, but ads within the pages as well). I'm guessing that's what's happening.

I'm going to tinker with it when I get a minute and see if that's what's affecting it.

          Thanks!
