Ok, noob stuff here; how do I get rips of compilation discs to include the specific artist's names in the naming scheme consistently? Some do and some don't, even if they are listed on the album cover index. Is it something out of my hands from the recording company or is there some setting I can adjust? I have dbpoweramp Reference and about a week of experience. The disc I'm working on now is from Ireland (Irish Pub Classics) and is Vol.1 of 3. It is in AccurateRip and shows on the skin without the compilation box checked but I've ripped it both that way and with the box checked and neither shows the artist's names. Both come up as "Various Artists." Can I do any better? Thanks guys. :headbang:

Re: Missing Artists?
Sorry LT, I told you I was a noob; I thought dbpoweramp Reference Was a version. I found the version in the configuration module, its 12.3. I'm using your naming scheme as you noted it in your tutorial. And as I wrote in the post I've tried it both with the compilation checked and without. Thanks for taking the time to look at this.Comment

Re: Missing Artists?
Its not in the Album Artist field but it does show in the Artist field. I'd like to show the Album, the Title, and the actual Artist on these compilations. I want to say again that this does not occur on all compilations but it seems more common on cds from outside the US (this one is from Ireland.)Originally posted by WayneIt would appear that the downloaded meta data must contain "Various Artists" as a value, most likely in the Album Artist field. How would you like the files to be organised?Comment

If "Various Artist" shows up in the artist field, does the real artist name show up in the title then?Lt. Data

Re: Missing Artists?
Are you using AMG or FreeDB for meta-data? If you have album art, it is AMG. If you don't, it could be either.Lt. Data

Try clicking the arrow beside the "Meta" button, clicking "Retrieve From" and then selecting FreeDB to see if that gives you better results.Lt. Data
