Problems finding Naming setup

Hi,

I have a lot of CDs to rip to hard disc and am looking to move from EAC to dbpowerAMP. I have downloaded the trial version of ‘dBpoweramp Reference’ and looked in the Forum to see how to change the naming convention. I am trying to replicate EAC’s; -6 -V -T "artist=%a" -T "title=%t" -T "album=%g" -T "date=%y" -T "tracknumber=%n" -T "genre=%m" -T comment="%e" -T "comment=EAC (Secure Mode)" %s

How do you get into the ‘system’ to change the naming convention? I have also seen mention of a ‘Powerpack’. Do I need it for the Reference version and if yes, how do I get it?

Finally, I downloaded the ‘Arrange Audio’ codec. My config file says I have it but how do you access it? It doesn’t seem to be on any menus.

Use the "Arrange Audio" like you would a codec, that is select the files to convert them and then choose "Arrange Audio" from the drop-down codec list.

As for your naming scheme, what did your files end up looking like? "track # - artist - title"? Since you have Reference, you have all of the features of the PowerPack in addition to the Reference-only features. Consider Reference a superset of the PowerPack.

To adjust the naming scheme when ripping CDs, see the bottom-left of the CD Ripper window where it says "naming" and you can click "Set".

That is the command line to a codec, nothing to do with file naming (it sets the ID Tags).

Sorry guys, I was having a bad day and forgot that I had sent my brain out to the dry cleaners.... :lustig3:

Why I didn't spot the naming entry in the ripper box I don't know. And yes Spoon, the line is about tags and not naming..doh!

Anyway one last dumb question before I go. If I go to Windows Explorer and right click a flac file, a box comes up with 'Edit ID-Tag'. However, if I then click that nothing happens. Any idea why?

I'm not sure why nothing happens, a window should pop-up that lets you edit the tags. If you right-click on the file and go to Properties, do you have an "Edit Tag" tab there?

Uninstall, reboot computer and install.
