How do I set dbpowerAMP to rip/encode one song at a time?

    Hello.

I just recently registered my copy of dbpowerAMP and it is doing something that it didn't do during the trial version. Instead of ripping/encoding one song at a time, it rips one song at the same time it is encoding another song that it has already ripped. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I don't want to introduce the possibility of encoding errors because it is trying to do too many things at one time... if this is even a possibility.

So, is there some setting that I can change in the program so that it will only rip and encode a single song at a time before moving onto the next track? If so, where is it located?

    Thanks so much!

Were you running the PowerPack trial and then purchased Reference?

As for encoding errors, there is a very small chance that would happen, as dMC was programmed to function like that. As for how to turn it off, this can only be done if you use the Multi-Encoder utility codec and uncheck the Multi-Processor option.

Yep, that was the exact scenario. I was running the PowerPack trial and then I purchased/registered the Reference.

As for your suggestion with the Multi-Encoder utility codec... I am not exactly sure what I need to do. Is this something I have to download first and install before I can use?

Yes, the Multi-Encoder utility codec is available, as are all codecs, from Codec Central via the link at the top of the page. If you are unsure how to use it, glance over the help file.

The Ripper was designed to do exactly what you are seeing, rip on one thread and encode on the other, there is no chance of errors (the ripping thread ishigh priority, the encoding thread is a lower priority).
