    Tips for using Volume Quieten?

I'm very confused about the two fields in this DSP - when I change one, I get unexpected results in the other, and when I apply this to a zero dB sine wave I also get an unexpected result. I'm not sure if it's a bug, or just my ignorance about the terms "percentage" and "dB".

In any case, what I want to do is to apply a fairly dramatic EQ DSP to a large number of files and avoid clipping. I've been doing this:

    24bit
    volume quieten
    graphic EQ
    normalize
    16-bit

but I'm having a hard time getting the volume quieten setting right so that I avoid clipping with the graphic EQ

thanks in advance for any explanation and suggestions!

I personally have never used this, so I cannot directly comment, but there might be some tips in the DSP thread itself: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=12210

Volume Quieten is not part of R12, so this relates to R11.5

If there is clipping decrease the volume in volume quieten.

In that case, some tips are here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthre...highlight=DSPs
The beta that was referenced was the dMC r11.5 beta, which is now final, of course.
