    Streaming Audio?

Is there a way to play streaming audio? If so, which codecs are needed? Essentially, how do I get it to work, and which formats will work?

    Thanks!

There are several servers out there that will do the job. I am currently using open-sourced SlimServer.

      Can be found here: http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html

It's designed primarily for streaming to a Slim Devices Squeezebox, but will serve up mp3 streams to other players as well. I'm using it to stream to a Roku Soundbridge as well as to mp3 players on various computers around the house. I like it because it seems to support more formats than most.

Most of my collection is m4a/aac, but have some flac and mp3 as well. It streams to the Roku as wav or aiff, but transcodes everything to LAME mp3 for WinAmp or the dbPowerAmp player. Codecs are included, but you can probably use your own if you like.

      Cheers.
