converting 24,000 song collection to mp3

i posted on here earlier using itunes to convert mp3s to wma but ran into some serious problems. now me and my friend are looking to set up a new system to convert his collection of 24,000 songs that contain mp3, wma, aac files all to mp3. If i run dbpoweramp, would this collection convert without problem and how long would it take roughly?

Also, we ran into a problem with itunes that it would stop converting completely if it hit a wma that was protected. How does dbpoweramp handle these? I'm well, complletely new so any information, advice it appreciated including links to other threads with good info. Thanks.

dMC errors out when it hits protected wma files also. However, I'm not sure if it quits converting or just skips the file.
As for how long it would take, that is unknown, but a good while. Use "File Selector" to convert nested folders and their files. File Selector is located in the Start Menu --> dBpowerAMP Music Converter --> dMC File Selector.
Also, make sure you have the WMA and AAC codecs installed from Codec Central.
Edit: See Spoon's post below, it looks like dMC just skips the encrypted ones.

It should skip the protected WMA file.

The speed is proportional to the speed of your computer.

24,000 music collection! And i thought my 5,000 song colection was big!


On my computer I converted flac to mp3 over a network at 9 to 10 times real time, but my computer is realtively newer and faster.
