    MP3 is 10 years old

Apparently 10 years ago, Fraunhofer introduced MPEG Audio Layer 3 audio compression with the extension of .mp3. Apparently the original extension was .bit, but by a company vote, .mp3 was chosen. Can you imagine the confusion otherwise? "What is the bitrate of your bit file?"
Here's hoping the patent runs out soon! :komisch12

    That .bit extension byte-s.
I think they would have bit-en off more than they could chew with that extension.
An extension like that could have come back and -bit- them in the back-side.

Errr... what I mean to say is that would've been confusing...

Oh, I forgot about the massive amount of corny jokes that .bit would inspire.
*falls over laughing* I do have to give you credit, though, that was good.

        *bows*

Thank you, thank you! My mind knows no bounds when it comes to corny.
