Submitting software to different websites

Hi,

I am a software developer and am looking to get my program noticed. I was looking at download.com, but in there submission page I saw the part about 10% of commission (or something of that nature). My program is freeware, and I noticed yours was freeware as well, but was listed on download.com. The question is: Do you pay any sort of comission since your program is freeware, or do you just pay the monthly fee? Also, do you know of any other places that would be good to submit my software to?

You pay a submission fee (~ $70 which is payable yearly).
