    lost Audio on my computer

Hi, I am very not computerish and I have lost all sound on my computer. When I go in to listen to my music, both downloaded and off my CD's, it tells me Waveout files not supported. Any other sound does not come out of it either. I have looked at the device manager and it tells me there is nothing wrong with the sound card. But, my computer is a 98, so anything is posssible. If you know what I have done to mess this up, PLEASE help me. I
have tried everything I can (which was not much) but have downloaded so audio files and such and nothing works. I think maybe some how I have deleted some files I needed or something. I did go in and reinstall the Windows 98 cd and that did not help. Thanks, for reading this and also in help you can give. Glenda

Re: lost Audio on my computer

what are you doing when you get the message "waveout files not supported"?

it may be a case of just reinstalling your sound drivers. you can listen to music using directx in dbpoweramp music player instead of wav out.

start dap then select menu-->amp-->highlite wav out
