    Track Numbers

Thanks Bill for your help earlier - the problem I have now is that I'd like to have ripped songs listed sequentially, ie Track 1, Track 2... etc kind of like 01. We're Gonna Groove while still keeping artist information. That way songs are listed in order when transferring to my pod. Any suggestions? I'm sure it's something real easy that I've overlooked.

    Regards,

I'm not sure what the original question was, but this sounds to me like you chose the wrong naming scheme when you ripped the tracks.

What you want is to pick a naming scheme which will sort properly for you. That may mean something like:

    [album]\[track ##]-[artist]-[title]

You control this from dMC Audio CD Input > Options > File Creation > Set .

So now you either re-rip everything again using this naming convention or you rename your files manually, one by one, depending on how much work is involved.

From the dMC Audio CD Input window, click on Options. In the Options Window click on File Creation. Click on the Set button. From the predefined list at the bottom select [track number xx][artist]-[track], double click to set this as your file creation format. Exit. That should do it. You do not have to stick with the predefined settings, you can create your own using the particular elements listed.
You will find lots more information in your Help files.
As far as transferring to iPod, I cannot promise this will work since I am unfamiliar with iPod. If you do run into problems with that, please let us know.

PS I did not have the benefit of Christina's post while creating mine. The setting Christina suggested would create a separate folder for each album and organize the files (tracks) within that folder by two-digit track number, artist name and track name. This would actually be better than just organizing without the folder structure, so definitely go with her suggestion there.

Thanks Christina, I knew it would be something really obvious that I'd overlooked! Cheers. Love the cat animated gif by the way, really made me chuckle.

        Cheers,

You're welcome, Specs. It looks like Bill and myself are on the same wavelength at least for this one :D
