it would not be default but rather you can make it your start page or not and full forum view will always be there too. basically it would be a choice if you wanted to look at the forums this way or not.

Not so sure, it would probabbly put people off, most people who vist dbpoweramp.com just want to download the converter, they are not too interested in news.

well if we can keep it there anyway? it doesn't have to be the news forum that gets shown in the middle. it can be any forum. perhaps have a link for users who want to view the front end that way? it has no effect on the way this forum is displayed here.
