Corrupted File Error

Hi folks,

For the first time I am experiencing an issue with a CD I have ripped. The CD is in immaculate order.

Please see below screenshots:

When the CD is ripped, AccurateRip confirms that all tracks have been ripped successfully. I have tried ripping three times, but with same end results as per above screenshots.

A few years back, it ripped fine using Windows Media Player, and played perfectly on my old Sony mp3 Walkman.

That's interesting--I haven't yet had an AccurateRip-approved file fail to play.

Your attachments are awaiting approval, so I can't see what you're seeing.

While we are waiting for the screenshots to be approved, you could test-play the file. If memory serves, you disabled WMP. If you have Groove Music and it's enabled, you can try it with that.

I can't open/play/delete the corrupt folder - even as Administrator. I have been messing with this single CD for a couple of hours now.

I uninstalled Groove Music etc when I installed Foobar.

I deleted the screenshots after I uploaded them and I can't quite remember what they said other than that it was "corrupt".

Try using the Insert Image option to post pictures and not the Attachments option.

Files on drives can become corrupt after the fact. Could be a failing hard drive. Can you rerip the CD.

Files on drives can become corrupt after the fact. Could be a failing hard drive. Can you rerip the CD.

Hi,

I think it was Gary who once said; "Don't rely on SD cards!"

It needed to be 'repaired' with a dedicated tool. Then I was able to remove the rogue file and re-rip and replace.

A bit of a mission but got there in the end.

yep. it happens. In addition to backups, I also occasionally run dbpa BATCH CONVERTER and convert all my files on a HDD to "TEST CONVERSION" to make sure I don't have any corrupted files.

Cheers Gary. You were correct in that the files (album) became corrupted soon after being ripped and drag&dropped to the Sandisk SD card. I have never heard of 'Test Conversion' before? The only time I have used the 'Batch Processor' when I substituted all the album artwork (for 30GB CDs) to 'Folder' art. Paul

Hi,

Seems to be fine now. The rouge file must have got corrupted after the rip and during the process of copying to the SD card.
