Ripping Errors on one computer but not on another with same CD drive

I started getting errors when ripping CD's on a couple of external drives on one computer using the CD Ripper after having ripped CD's fine for a while. When I moved the external CD drives to a different computer, the CD's which showed errors on the original computer ripped perfectly with CD Ripper on the new computer with the same set-up. I have reloaded the dBPoweramp software on the original computer and retried this again. It continued to show errors. Any suggestions on what could be happening?
