Isrc and upc in AccurateRip Meta

    Hi,

Might be the wrong board, but I didn’t find one specifically for Accuraterip Meta.

I’m wondering where accuraterip meta gets Isrc and upc data from.
As I understand accuraterip is a mix between freeDB (which doesn’t provide Isrc and upc), and user submissions with extended metadata. Is this correct?

I did some tests on different meta providers and the amount of data they provide.
Accuraterip meta was far more consistent than MusicBrainz when it comes to UPC’s.
However, they performed the same when comparing isrc’s. Same amount, same values.

I have previously been a bit skeptical regarding musicbrainz, as they sometimes have multiple isrc’s for the same entries, and I have found their isrc’s to be inaccurate sometimes.

I can think of a couple of reasons why musicbrainz might be less accurate than other db’s, but I would like to hear your opinions on it.

It seems to me that musicbrainz and accuraterip meta doesn’t get their UPC’s from the same source, but do they share isrc’s?

Trying to better understand the metadata I get and its “integrity”.

AccurateRip does not provide metadata. EDIT: nevermind. I see spoon has added an AR metadata source to the other cloud sources. But metadata itself is not used for determining ACCURATERIP ripping matches (not your question I realize, but just in case other users don't understand the latter point).

UPC and ISRC cannot be relied upon, best to get a barcode scanner and paste it in for each disc by scanning the jeweled case
