when saving a music file stored on a network device after tagging(meta data):
will the complite file be written again?
or can the metadata be edited with less network traffic?
will it be downloaded for editing completely, stored in temp and written back after editing?
my own answer is, but may be i'm wrong. help me please:
when stored on a NAS or a cloud service without NTFS the file will be completely copied and written back.
when the music file is stored on a windows server or another NTFS-storage-system there is a chance to save changes only. this is a guess.
all this is important e.g. when using onedrive. i stored many music files on onedrive and had to edit later because w8.1 music app is reading cover art from music file. so when find out: uuh, i need to add some hundret cover art jpgs. i burned so many gb online volume
somebody here who knows?
