A question or 2 regarding my cd drive etc

Before I get too far with ripping my cds:

1. Is there a preferred setting on my cd drive as far as 16 bit 44.1K vs. 24 bit 41.1k/48k? The drive is a Samsung/Mashita DVD-ROM SW830. I'm sure most of my cds are conventional redbook @16bit/41.1K, but a few are 20 bit. And there's a few HDCD's as well.

2. Any particular setting in the dbpa for HDCDs?

16 bit 44khz should be used, include hdcd and it automatically sets 24 bit if required.
