It was suggested by Avalon on Linn forums that I posted this query on this forum, any help gratefully received.
Sat down last Friday to listen to music and each track played for a few seconds and the just the spinning wheel on Kinsky, checked all network bits and no obvious issues, I the connected remotely to my server and found a number of alarming issues.
1. Network at risk, there are file conflicts, I apparently have a data error cyclical redundancy check, deleted the files, rescanned the database and all was well. However when ever I add a new album this recurs with tracks from the new album listed as errors.
2. Both drives show as healthy.
3. The shared folder for music is at risk?
4. Bad block \device\harddisk0
When I check properties the boot device is \device\harddiskvolume1 however 'computer management' show that disk0 has the SYS(C partition which I assume contains the whs software and thus cannot be simply replaced.
5. Sometimes Asset keeps on rescanning the database even when visually it has finished, it starts again.
Server specs, Intel Atom 1.6Ghz processor 1GB RAM, 32bit, Assetnas, OS Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for small businesses.
Is this the beginning of the end? If it is the hard disk containing the server software then how do I replace it?
Any ideas, help would all be gratefully received. I do have 3 backups so all is not lost.
Thanks in advance
