Do Different CD-ROM Drives Contour Sound Output Differentle?????

It seems to be very difficult to purchase a truly good CD-ROM drive at a reasonable price, let alone to find one that passed QC inspection. I watch the annual dbpoweramp survey of CD-ROM drives religiously. I just purchased two drives as a result of the recently published 2012 survey. It dawned upon me that audiophiles seems to be fanatics about cabling, power supplies and interconnects. My question is do CD-ROM drives "sound" differently or produce differently contoured output? I ask this as I am mixing drives in my system and I am wondering if this is a mistake.

    With appreciation,

    Tom

If AccurateRip verifies then the output of the drive is 100% correct.

Different drives do not sound differently, they can perhaps have different amount of errors in the final rip (if AccurateRip does not verify), but these errors tend to be isolated.
