I do hope my ignorant question helps more than myself.
While ripping a new copy of Poulenc Edition, EMI 20 disc box set, I received ripping status of secure, inaccurate and complete. The latter option seems to be a new one for me. What is "complete"?
While ripping this sa,e box set, disc 5 had zero metadata including no track names and no cover art folder. Is there any option other than typing in the missing track information one-by-one and pasting in cover art?
By the way disc 5 contained 5 inaccurate tracks and disc 7 contained 1 inaccurATE TRACK AND ANOTHER DISC WAS ABSENT OF A COVER ART FOLDER. aNOTHER BOX SET OF mATHAT aRGERICH PIANO MUSIC CONTAINED A DISC PHYSICALLY LABELED AS A "JAZZ SAMPLER". dO ANY CD PRODUCERS EXERCISE ANY REASONABLE QUALITY CONTROL? bY THE WAY, i WROTE A POLITE, SINCERE E-MAIL ABOUT ANOTHER RELATED ISSUE TO emi cUSTOMER cARE RECENTLY, gUESS WHAT, i NEVER RECEIVED AN ANSWER AND i DID USE THE CORRECT ADDRESS. Do you notice my horrible typing?: This is about how I feel about the recording quality of many of the new discs I am buying that are produced by major, supposedly reputable recording firms.
1) When no metadata is present, is there anything that can be done short of typing everything?
2) Am I alone in my disgruntled feelings about an apparent lack of quality control y recording companies? By the way, I can identify many other manufacturing defect types including, but not limited to excess residual glue preventing a box set from opening.
Thank you inadvance for your answers and comments. Your assistance is much appreciated.
Best regards,
Tom
