I am amazed at the lack of service/support being provided by many recording companies. If you purchase a CD or many CDs with a bad cut that rips inaccurately, the record producer will typically not make the bad cut good by replacing the disc or even providing a corrected cut.
I bought a box set from a major recording company. 13 discs ripped with all cuts accurate except one. That one bad cut ruins the entire box set. I purchased the original single disc that contained the music on the disc in the box set and ripped this. All cuts ripped accurately. I then deleted the bad cut folder from the disc file and pasted in the accurate cut from the single disc. In my music folder, all cuts in the disc folder look good, but when I scan the music folder into my Logitech squeezebox touch for playing, I cannot seem to get the hybridized disc folder to show up as a single disc. Rather, I get two separate folders, one with the original accurately ripped seven cuts and a second folder with the one replaced cut.
First, is there a way that I can replace the inaccurate file such that the folder will scan into the Lofitech Media Server as a single disc folder rather than as two folders?
Second, what do you recommend a person do if they receive say a box set with one disc that contains one bad cut, i.e. one inaccurate cut?
Third, is it me or has recording production of classical discs just become sloppy? I experience on average about one inaccurate cut every 30 discs I rip. This is unnerving, expensive in money and expensive in time.
