Hi
I am setting up a new PC as a music server for use with an external DAC. I added a nice plextor drive for ripping and an extra 3TB internal hard drive for storing my music files (I have about 2000 CDs and want to rip them as WAV files). I also have a 3TB external drive I will use as a back up. I plan on using J River as my media player and have installed this on my primary C: drive. I was able to set J River up as my player, and able to specify which drive to use for my music (M: on my system) and which to use as the backup (G: on my sytem). I was hoping to use dBpoweramp as the ripper to provide accurate rips and maybe a little quicker than J River. I have installed this on my C: drive as well. Anyhow, here's what I can't figure out (honest I just spent the last 3 hours trying to find this anywhere I could and read hundreds of pages, it's probably right in front of me, but I don't see it);
1. How do I get dBpoweramp to rip the CDs to the M: drive I want all my files stored on ? It gives me this path name but I can't tell where it is putting it or how I would change it. Can I somehow specify it to rip directly into the file that J River created for music?
2. Once they are ripped there does J River just read them from that location, or does it re-import them into J River duplicating the files? If I duplicate files I won't have enough storage space. I know this isn't a J River MC forum, but I assume a lot of people here are using that program as well.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I'm a little frustrated and after spending all this money I don't want to screw it up or be unable to use my set up.
Much appreciated.
