    Tagging Question

Not too long ago I bought a new computer and after re-installing dBpoweramp I realized that I had to figure out my naming scheme for tagging my files since I couldn't remember exactly how I had it before. Well, I eventually figured it out and it looks like this...

    [artist] - [album][IFMULTI] Disc [disc][] - [track] - [title]

Now, I seem to be having a little issue here (LOL). After ripping the tracks from the CD, it no longer saves them in embedded folders with the Artist and then the title of the CD like it used to. It just saves the individual tracks in the location I tell it to without putting them into folders.

How can I fix that so it will save the tracks in folders with Artist/CD Title? Do I need to add something to the naming scheme above in order to get it to do this?

    Thanks.

    Re: Tagging Question

    You would need:

    [artist]\[album]\

On the front, it is best to look at the default naming value as it uses album artist if available.

      Re: Tagging Question

      Okay Thanks.

I went back and looked over the Default naming scheme and I think I have it figured out so that the file name will look like I want it to, which is this...

Artist - Album Name - Track Number - Track Title

Here is the naming scheme I used:

      [IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[IFCOMP]Various Artists[][IF!COMP][artist][][]\[album]\[album artist] - [album] - [track] - [title]

Where I bolded above, is that what you meant as far as it being best to use the Album Artist?
