How To Get Db Restored After Computer Died?

My old computer died which had all the dB software in it (music converter, power pack, player, etc) which I bought about four years back.

Can I get it downloaded again since I already paid for it?

I have the original "C" hard drive which contains it and I can address it as an external drive, but the dB application will not run even when I try to launch it manually. The old OS was Windows XP and the new one is Win 7 if that means anything.

Is there anyway to get it working again aside from just paying for it all over again?


EDIT TO ADD: I tried following the links in the other post to recover the order number to get it re-issued, but it is not recognizing my email address. Is there an age cutoff for your files? I checked the file date on my dB Converter App program and it said August 2006.

No date cut off, make sure you are using the right email address.

I have only ever had one email address, and it is refusing to recognize it. I have no idea what else to do. Is there anybody at dB who can access the files manually?

I know I ordered it offline and the only email address I have ever had is the one I am still using. I don't know why it won't recognize it.

For security reasons (as most people would be glad to hear - hint Sony debacle) we only store the order number + email in the database, these are the only two which can be searched.

OK, I understand that but I don't understand why it won't recognize my email. The last PC that died was the first PC I ever owned in my life, it was the machine I loaded dB onto, and it was the first and only email address I have ever had in my life. There is no other email address it could be, it's the only home email address I have ever had in my life and I am still using it. Clearly, there is something wrong in the dB files if it can not recognize that address. There is nothing else for me to try, if you can not fix the files at your end then I have no way of doing this.

I can send along a screen capture JPG of the dB folder with all the files and programs in it as proof. I paid for the program, I just can't get your website to recognize my email address.

Here is what you do, copy that folder over to you new PC then install R14.2 trial over the top. Once the reference trial has ended (21 days) it will say registered Power Pack.

I transferred the old folder from the apps file and then downloaded the trial version. I guess I have to wait 21 days to see if it takes....

Apparently, it did not work. Now when I open dB, it's telling me my "trial version" expires in three days. Obviously, it has no clue I have the full version installed in the folder where it put the trial version.

It will do, as you have a 21 day trial of the Reference version, when it expires it will become Power Pack which is correct.
