media control from media/cd control buttons

Anybody have and idea how I can have my Toshiba Satellite notebook (5105-s501) envoke dbPoweramp Player from the Media sub LCD panel on the front of the machine.
Toshiba has set the options for Media apps as M$ Media Player or thier own player.

I'm thinking perhaps someone has tinkered with this and I'm willing to try out some tweeks if you've got ideas....

    This any good?:

dAP will work with Microsoft compatible multimedia keyboards (play, skip, etc), for those with other keyboards all hope is not lost. First off is Control Freak, it adds 13 control action programs: dAP-Open, dAP-Pause, dAP-Play, dAP-Previous, dAP-Selective, dAP-Quit, dAP-VolumeUp, dAP-VolumeDown and dAP-Skip, as well as 'dummy' audio files that can be placed at the end of play lists to close the computer down once they are reached. If you have a program where it is possible to assign a button to a program assign it to one of these freak programs.

You can add an application using regedit under
      HKLM\SOFTWARE\Toshiba\Services\Audio
but I can't get it to do anything. Have you had any more luck?
