    Impossible to rip ANY cds with dbpoweramp

    My apologies if this is a newbie error on my part but after searching the forum and support sites I was unable to find any answer to my problem.

    When I try to rip ANY of my CDs Dbpoweramp tells me that for each track:

    Error ripping to mp3 (Lame), 'Track 1' to 'F:\Emmylou Harris\Emmylou Harris - Wrecking Ball - 01 - Where Will I Be.mp3'
    Error unable to open File 'F:\Emmylou Harris\Emmylou Harris - Wrecking Ball - 01 - Where Will I Be.mp3' for writing. [clEncoder::BeginConversion]

    This probably a newbie mistake but I can rip any of these cds with Itunes so it is not a question of copy protection, besides which some of these cds are over 10 years old.

    I am running Windows XP with all updates current on an HP Media Center computer.

    Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

        hmmm, sorry but that doesn't make sense. Your message indicates it is trying to WRITE to the F: drive during ripping. Maybe you haven't set your rip settings destination drive correctly (that is you are trying to save your ripped files to the F: drive, which it can't because your F: drive is your CD/DVD drive from which it is reading). Make sure you have your DESTINATION drive set to what it should be (the drive where the tracks will be stored).

          Can you also confirm that you are using the CD Ripper to rip the tracks?
