Apple Lossless - won't play or import

Hi,
I must be doing something wrong here but it is driving me crazy. To explain I had dbpa installed before and ripped lots of CD's I own to Apple Lossless. I then did File Add to Library in itunes, (mac - I ran dbpa via Parallels on Mac). Everything was fine. A short time ago I had to do a new install and I've just started to rip the next lot of CD's. The rip goes fine but when I try and drag and drop the folders over to itunes it just ignores them. The same with File Add etc. I have also tried using VLC to just play the files/tracks but no joy.

Does someone have an idea of what is going wrong?

It feels like I've tried everything - I've uninstalled and reinstalled dbpa, and the codecs but no joy.

Install the Audio Info utility codec from:

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-utility.htm

Then convert one of the Apple Lossless files (right click on one >> Convert To >> Apple Lossless), enable the extensive info option and post the results please.

Hi,
I did download the info utility, (but I think I need the Power Pack - where do I find this?). Anyway I went to a track that I had ripped and did the right click convert to apple lossless. After the conversion it then allows me to play and to import into iTunes. I then ripped another CD and straight away this plays and allows me to import into iTunes.

No idea what changed but something did - the first conversion to apple lossless triggered something?

Perhaps you ripped to FLAC?
