Can't get this to convert WAV to MP3

This software came highly recommended so I downloaded the trial version first to make sure it would work. I downloaded and that went smooth but when I go to convert a WAV to MP3 I get an error message of Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'C:\Users\Kerrie\Documents\CLASS-Mentorship\Mentorship 2010 March\Mntrsp Class 2 041810.wav' to 'C:\Users\Kerrie\Documents\CLASS-Mentorship\Mentorship 2010 March\Mntrsp Class 2 041810.mp3'
Error Cannot Create Wave Decoder (CCITT u-Law)? [clWaveDecoder::PrepareToDecodeAudio]

Those kind of wave files are not supported.
