The codec I downloaded was Windows Media Audio 10. So I'm confused. Looking in the Legacy section it says that version 10.1 already has what's needed included in the download for Windows Media Player. Please bare with me if I sound dense, I'm very new at this.

Re: Need help Still
Sorry, Spoon replyed to last post, Need Help. That was my reply back.
I'm running the trial version dbpoweramp10.1. Every time I try to take a song I have in Windows Media Player11, it pops up with the msg that I need to install a codec. I've installed the codec Windows Media Audio 10 but I still can't get it to work, it keeps telling me I need to install a codec.
Spoon said that all codecs were for the updated R12 unless I got it from Legacy Codec Central. Which is what my post was replying to. According to that site I shouldn't need a codec for dMC 10.1 everything needed is included in the download to work with Windows Media Player.
I can't get it to Rip a song from a disk either. I bring up the tool and Nothing. It tells me to insert a disk under Tracks. the disk is already in. I tried inserting disk after, didn't help, still nothing.
What I'm trying to do is take songs I have and convert them to ring tones for a Verzion LG VX8360 cell phone. It shouldn't be this hard/complicated.
I'm not as smart as some and dummer that most when it comes to this kind of thing. Thank you for your help and patience.Comment

Re: Need help Still
The Windows Media Audio 10 codec is for version 12 and higher of dMC. For dMC 10.1 you'll need to download and install the legacy Windows Media Audio v9.1 codec (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codecs/dBp...dec-wmav91.exe) to the same location of dMC? Afterwards check that dMC Config indicates that the codec is installed?
If you are in fact referring to version 13 of dMC run dBpowerAMP Configuration and check that it recognises that the WMA codec is installed. You will still need to download and install one of dBpowerAMP's WMA codec for dMC to work.

Re: Need help Still
Thank you very much Wayne. It works fine now.
One other question, once I have converted the chosen songs to thirty sec.
MP3 ringtones and saved them on the Desktop, is there any way one can download them directly to the Verzion LG VX8360 cell phone and save them in the phones Ringtones useing the usb/data cable? Or does that have to be done through the phone useing email/mesaging.Comment

Re: Need help Still
The Sony Ericson phone I used to have came with transfer software. Worked great too. Doesn't seem to work with the LG phone I have now though.
With the merge of my old carrier Unicell with Verizon, we all had to get new Verizon phones, and they want you to buy ringtones from them off their media store. Costs 3.00 per ringtone plus the msg/internet cost. Then if you have to replace the phone or the ringtone gets lost for whatever reason you have to purchase the ringtone again. They claim it's due to the possibilty of getting a virus from computer to phone. Good excuse.Comment
