I have used this as my main tape ripping program for some time with no problems. I had to re-format my hard drive and now when I rip I end up with an mp3 file that sounds warbled (as though its either playing too fast or missing bits here and there. Any ideas would be appreciated

Sounds like something is running at the same time and taking a bit of the CPU time. Try recording to Wave to check your cound card is functioning fine.
